Fleece Jazz

We are delighted to welcome back to Fleece Jazz the international sax legend Theo Travis and his band Double Talk to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his classic album Secret Island.

Theo Travis’ many musical interests come together in this distinctive project. Having appeared on over 230 albums and played at Ronnie Scott’s in London over 70 times, Theo Travis has worked with Soft Machine, Robert Fripp, David Gilmour, David Sylvian, John Etheridge, and Keith Tippett. He has performed all over the world, including the USA, Canada, Japan, Europe, Scandinavia, and the UK. Theo has released 2 albums with Double Talk, both of which are critically and popularly acclaimed.

In addition to Theo Travis’ emotional tenor and soprano saxes and flute, the band features the soulful Hammond organ playing of Pete Whittaker, the explosive guitar solos of Mike Outram and the powerhouse drumming of Nic France.

This will be an evening of passionate music and haunting instrumental songs from one of Britain’s top saxophonists and flautists and his band.  You really should not miss it!

Fleece Jazz is an independent, non-profit association run by a voluntary committee who have been providing modern and contemporary jazz for 28 years. They book talented musicians and jazz bands from the UK and beyond to perform at Stoke by Nayland Resort, providing the perfect backdrop for these cherished and popular events.

Fleece Jazz events are generally held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
