Head Chef

Stoke by Nayland Resort is looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our talented brigade of chefs. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and support to the main kitchen team, whilst delivering an exceptional standard of food within the a la carte Lakes Restaurant, the Orchard Bar & Lounge and our thriving Events section.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Head Chef or in an equivalent role within a high-volume hotel/resort environment and be able to demonstrate experience managing a team.

As Head Chef, you will be passionate about working with food and will be expected to work to a high standard.

We are looking for someone to:

• Demonstrate leadership by example
• Promote teamwork across the kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Maintain a guest focus through effective communication
• Promote local ingredients within seasonal menus
• Work within agreed targets for the cost of sales and GP
• Manage the ordering and control of stock
• Take responsibility for driving sales and quality assurance
• Develop and train the team and foster a culture of creativity, passion and pride
• Work in accordance with current Health & Safety, Food Safety and other statutory regulations and legislation

This is a full-time position working 5 out of 7 days per week on a rota basis, including weekends and evenings. The salary available is up to £40,000 DOE.
