ISBN Arts & Literary Festival
On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11thJune, Stoke by Nayland will play host to some well-known authors such as Ronald Blyth, Richard Mabey, Deborah Moggach and Ella Berthoud at the ISBN Arts & Literary Festival.
There’s a whole host of activity taking place across the weekend including talks and readings from authors, a bird walk, various exhibitions including photography and mixed media and the opportunity to meet and hear the work of the Young People from the Prince’s Trust and the University of Essex.
Here’s a few highlights taking place across the weekend:
Best-selling author Deborah Moggach will talk about how her books are adapted into films, including one of my favourite films, ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ and ‘Tulip Fever’ which is due to be released later in the year.
Best known for his work ‘Akenfield: Portrait of an English Village (1969)’, Ronald will be introducing readers as well as presenting his own reflections on nature, philosophy and religion.
Writer and broadcaster Richard Mabey will also be in attendance at the festival. He will be discussing his work writing about plants and reflect on the challenges of creating imaginative prose about seemingly non-sentient beings.

Why not tie in a visit to the Stoke by Nayland Hotel during the festival? I definitely recommend booking in to enjoy an Afternoon Tea on the terrace overlooking the golf course!
