COVID-19 Update - 12th May 2020

Following the latest guidance from the UK government, we are pleased to announce that the golf courses at Stoke by Nayland will be open for golf from Wednesday 13th May. Find out more by reading our re-opening policy.

Spring is usually one of our busiest periods for us at SbN. A time when we reconnect guests with their friends and family at weddings and events, or invite them to rest and recuperate at Peake Spa or enjoy a perfect golf break on our championship courses. Sadly, owing to the devastating impact of Covid-19, too many families have lost loved ones, and this insidious virus continues to have a profound impact on our way of life. Since 20th March when the Government announced non-essential travel and strict social distancing measures, which forced us to make decisions beyond our control, our reservations team has worked hard to accommodate the many changes that we and our guests are having to make. Whilst adapting to home working, our team has dealt with bookings up until the end of May, and in some cases for larger events into June. We thank you all for your understanding of the situation thus far, and I am pleased to see that everyone has moved their bookings to a later date for those all-important events, weddings and leisure stays. This has been appreciated by us all, and thank you for your incredible support in these difficult times where in this unprecedented situation nearly 95% of our team have had to be furloughed.

Future booking and flexible policy

Following on from the most recent advice and government guidelines, we are continuing to address bookings up until 30th June 2020. We have extended our flexible, no-charge policy, meaning customers due to arrive before 30th June 2020 could change their booking dates to any time up until 12 months from the date of the original booking. We have also recognised that those due to pay the final balance on their booking very soon might be feeling anxious about doing so. To help these customers and offer peace of mind, we’re also enabling them to make the same changes to their booking dates. For customers with bookings from 1st July 2020, please note standard terms and conditions still currently apply from your time of booking. Of course, if that changes, we will be in touch.

We are constantly working to adjust our policy and booking window in line with the latest official advice. We hope to give you confidence to know that if, at a later date, further guidelines and restrictions mean you are forced to change your plans, we will help you to do this with no charge. We have waived all administration charges and will continue to do so during this time.

  • Booking a tee time

    The golf course will be open from Wednesday 13th May for members and non-members for green fees only. Read our re-opening policy which also includes guidance on how to book your tee time.

  • How does this affect my booking?

    We are currently contacting or communicating with anyone who has bookings with us between now and 30th June 2020. The team will be working in date order to prioritise their contact with all bookers.

  • Hotel Bookings - Including Spa and Golf Breaks

    If your arrival is within the period before 30th June 2020, we are able to offer you the option to rebook at a later date for up to 12 months from the date of the original booking. Please contact us by email at [email protected]

  • Spa Bookings

    If you have a Spa Day or treatment booking with us for arrival before 30th June, our Spa Team will be in touch to reschedule this in due course for a later date within 12 months from the date of the original booking, prioritising bookings in date order. We thank you for your patience in this matter.

  • Table reservations in the Lakes or Gallery Restaurants

    If you have paid a deposit for a reservation in any of our restaurants arranged before 30th June 2020, please contact us for your rebooking options. If no deposit has been paid your reservation will be cancelled automatically.

  • Conferences, Meetings, Events & Weddings

    For those who have any bookings before 30th June 2020, a member of our sales team will be in touch with you in due course. We are working through the bookings in date order as quickly as possible and we would ask you to kindly wait for us to contact you during a time when we are experiencing a high volume of calls and a reduced number of team members working from home to deal with the bookings.

  • Lodge Bookings

    If your arrival is within the period before 30th June 2020 we are able to offer you the option to rebook at a later date for up to 12 months from the date of the original booking. Please contact us by email at [email protected] Our lodges are currently available for key workers and those self-isolating for long periods of time only.

  • For all bookings after 1st July 2020

    We will continue to closely monitor the government guidelines and follow their advice. Should this information change we will update you via our website and social media channels. Once again, we kindly ask for your patience in this matter if your event is booked from 1st July 2020 onwards, as we are not yet in a position to offer any advice or guidance at this point. We are hopeful that normal service will resume in time for the summer.
