Stoke by Nayland Resort is looking for a Golf and Retail Assistant to join the team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about golf, customer-focused, and has excellent communication and organisational skills.
As a Golf and Retail Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to golfers and visitors of Stoke by Nayland Resort. You will assist with daily golf operations and Pippin gift shop duties, including but not limited to, greeting customers, assisting with purchases, scheduling tee times, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a clean and organised environment. You will have the opportunity to interact with customers and provide assistance in various aspects of the golf facilities or retail experience.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure golfers and Resort guests receive an exceptional level of service throughout their visit
- Welcome and assist Pippin customers, advising on both gift and golf merchandise purchases and deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Keep buggies clean, charged and report any mechanical issues
- Supervise golfers using the facilities and monitor the pace of play
- Be visible and act as a point of contact for members and Resort guests and support with any questions or issues
- Carry out general shop tasks including answering email enquiries, stock control, visual merchandising, and dealing with telephone enquiries
- Process shop deliveries with accuracy and attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with the golf, retail, and Resort teams
- Tour the courses and pick up any litter/debris, replace cart directional stakes/ropes, fix ball marks on greens and check all on-course restrooms for needed supplies and cleanliness
- Assist with the set-up and administration of golf events
- Carry out daily checks of the practice facilities
- Help manage the tee time booking system
- Follow the opening and closing policies and procedures correctly
- Ensure the driving range is kept clean, tidy and balls stocked – Collect range balls when required
- Inform guests about current course conditions, local rules, golf cart restrictions, inclement weather and course etiquette
- Adhere to the Resortâs policies and procedures
- Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by your manager
Experience:
- Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
